Timbe gets a paltry six minutes of game time ,Dunga overlooked

Kenyan internationals Ayub Timbe and Ismail Dunga had a perfect opportunity of meeting for the first time in the Japanese J1 league when Vissel Kobe and Sagan Tosu locked horns in a round 17 fixture.

That opportunity would however not come to pass as Dunga was not included in the matchday squad that played Kobe on Sunday morning. Here is a wrap of how the action unfolded.

Ayub Timbe

Unlike Dunga, the former reading winger was named in Vissel Kobe’s matchday squad that faced off with Sagan Tosu.

However, Timbe did not start the game as he was only named on the substitutes bench and only came on for the final six minutes in place of Yuta Goke.

Dunga’s absence notwithstanding, Sagan Tosu had an explosive start to the game.

Barely a minute in the game, Keiya Sento found the breakthrough for his side after being set up by Yoshihiro Nakano to give Tosu the lead.

Almost at the halfway mark of the game, in the 28th minute, Kobe found themselves back in the game after Douglas found the back of the net for the home team. There would not be any more goals in the game as the clash ended 1-1.

Brian Mandela

In South Africa, the Harambee Stars defender warmed the bench throughout as South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who were recently crowned again failed to find the way past Baroka Swallows with the game ending in a barren stalemate.
