Stars Abroad: Another win for Marcelo as Oduor bags an assist

Harambee Stars left back Erick 'Marcelo' Ouma clocked full minutes as AIK saw off the relegation battling Orebro 2-0 in Swedish top-tier match played at the Friends Arena.

The hosts took the lead through centre back Goran Alexander who found the back of the net in the 17th minute. Orebro shot themselves in the foot after Nasiru Moro turned the ball into his net in the 30th minute, complicating their hopes of staging a comeback.

The Ghanaian had a game to forget as he was booked hardly seconds into the game and would double the opponents advantage much to the chagrin of his teammates who were pushing for an equalizer.

While Marcelo had the luxury of celebrating a win,his counterpart and potential competitor in the national team Clarke Oduor also clocked full time as Barnsley played Birmingham City to a one all draw at Oakwell Stadium.

Oduor capped the outing with an assist as he set up the opener netted by Callum Styles in the sixth minute.The forward would be booked late in the game.

Birmingham restored parity in the 33rd minute through Lukas Jutkiewicz who was put through by Ivan Sunjic of Croatia.

Following the draw, Barnsley who are set to play AFC Bournemouth in their next game have now stretched their recent winless run to three matches as they had played Queens Park Rangers to a two all draw in their previous match which was preceded by a 1-0 loss to Luton Town.
