This was the first match in the fixture to see an outright winner

Ulinzi Stars came from behind to bundle Kenya Police FC out of the Mozzart Bet Cup following a 2-1 victory at the Police Sacco Stadium.

Police had taken the lead from the spot in the first half but the soldiers staged a strong comeback in the second half.

Boniface Muchiri inspired the comeback from the spot, with Alex Masinde coming off the bench to score the winner late in stoppage time.

Elvis Rupia got the consolation for the law enforcers.

Against the run of play, Police took the lead from the spot after just 21 minutes through Rupia.

To earn the penalty, Rupia saw his effort on the right side of the attack impeded by the hand of Boniface

On resumption for the second half, Benard Mwalala was the first of the two managers to make changes as the duo of Staphod Odhiambo and Hillary Simiyu came on for John Kago and Enosh Ochieng.

At the turn of the hour mark, Francis Baraza made a double change as he rested David Simiyu and Marvin Nabwire for Alvin Mang'eni and Derrick Otanga.

Searching for the equalizer, Mwalala made two more changes that tweaked with the formation of the team.

The introduction of Masita Masuta and Stephen Etyang for Issa Lumumba and Clinton Omondi saw Ulinzi line up in a twin strike format, one that paid off almost immediately.

Three minutes after coming on, Etyang earned a penalty after being fouled in the box.

Muchiri stepped up to take the resultant penalty and made no mistake as he burried it into the net to level matters.

The soldiers were dealt a blow just two minutes after the equalizer with substitute Masuta going down injured and had to be substituted.

Masinde came on for the injured forward. He justified his inclusion by plundering home the winner right at the death.
