Son missed Kane so much; Spurs are finally playing by Mourinho's playbook

Not yet fully recovered Harry Kane led Tottenham Hotspur to a deserved 2-0 home win against WBA

Jose Mourinho has had as many as 13 matches against his colleague Sam Allardyce in the English top-tier and still hasn't tasted the defeat. Especially not after today's clash between Tottenham and WBA in London, in the 23rd round of the Premier League. With his vital go-to guy finally in the lineup, Portuguese could forget about that bumpy ride from the last couple of weeks.

Though it is a pure coincidence, Harry Kane rhymes with a hurricane, telling you a lot about his presence on the pitch. Coming in from the start after an injury that coincided with Tottenham's miserable streak, Kane engaged three times in the box in just five minutes. At the early stage of the game, he was so on fire, that WBA defence were in total shambles. Firstly he struck with his left, the ball even hit the net, but it was the wrong side of it. The best opportunity came in the very next minute due to a confusion of WBA sweeper. Kane was one-on-one with the keeper, but the poor finish went well of the target, showing he's still recovering. Spurs' finest man soon completed his artillery barrage with the right-foot shot, only this time saved by Johnstone.

After one more, Aurier's missed chance, in amid of the fiercest Hotspur pressure, it was WBA who could shockingly break the deadlock. Experienced Senegalese striker Mbaye Diagne's header almost crossed the line, but Lloris' sharp reaction prevented him from scoring in the last minutes of the first half.

As soon as both squads returned to the pitch, until-then invisible Son avoided an offside-trap. Korean fired nice from close range, only to be denied once again by WBA custodian. By that time it seemed that Sam Allardyce's slot is on the verge of something big on that London snow. But then hurricane struck! Nine minutes into the second half, visitors' defensive line snapped at a crucial moment, Hojbjerg spotted the gap and placed the ball on Kane's foot. The rest was pure enjoyment to watch, Spurs were in the lead, 1-0.

Your reporter didn't even have enough time to plug-in his computer, and it was already 2-0. Kane dropped the ball with his chest standing deep in his own half, Moura picked it up and started a furious ran which resulted with a perfect counter-attack. He found Son alone on the right flank and, my son, he hit it correctly to double the lead.

However, WBA were not in a surrendering mood, with mighty Diagne hitting it with a head to score, but the ref cancelled it for an offside. Unfortunately for him, the same guy repeated that seven minutes before the final whistle, so it was again denied for the same reason. As soon as the snow kept turning into heavy, the game lacked any interesting action on both ends. Snordgard's tackle was flirting with the red card, indeed, but it was the ref who decided to calm things down with yellow, while Big Sam subbed him almost immediately.

Next Spurs' challenge is an away game against Manchester City, and it could prove crucial for the both, Mourinho as a manager and the team in search for the UCL spot. On the other hand, WBA is sitting on the 19th spot, and it's everything but a stress-free period for them. Relegation seems inevitable but never underestimate Big Sam. He's surely got one or two tricks up his sleeve.
