Something is rotten in the state of Anfield! Slot's men are tragically lost in Forest

Liverpool are battered at home by Sean Dyche's Nottingham Forest (0-3). The current Premier League champions are flirting with an awful season at this point

Calling it agony would be such an understatement at this point. Liverpool are going through one of the most dreadful sequences in their recent past as they've just registered their sixth loss of the Premier League season, at the hands of Nottingham Forest (0-3)!

The international break and that much-needed pause didn't help Arne Slot and his men at all. Instead of putting an end to their misery, the Reds suffered another heavy blow as they were battered at the mythical Anfield by Sean Dyche's resurrected side.

Unlike the defending champions, the visitors came with a clear game plan - to sit back, defend and wait for those rare opportunities in front of Alisson when and if they arose.

Liverpool were the ones to create chances, but their attacking flaws and some defensive errors directed the game into a rather unexpected path.

The Tricky Trees showed wisdom and patience in exploiting Liverpool's weaknesses in both halves.

First, it was Murillo who struck fiercely into the bottom corner around the half-hour mark after the hosts were unable to clear the ball from the corner, 0-1.

Anfield was stunned, but the worst was yet to come.

Straight after the restart, Forest stabbed the Reds, with their minds still wandering somewhere between the locker room and the pitch. Neco Williams made a mess on the left flank before cutting it back for Nicolo Savona to fire beyond Alisson.

Slot then went all-in by taking off Konate and giving Ekitike a chance to shake things up a bit in the attack, but it backfired, seriously - clueless in the offence, the home side conceded one more thanks to some miserable defending.

Visibly confident, the Tricky Trees were running riot in the rival's box, with Morgan Gibbs-White putting the cherry on top of Forest's best display of the season so far, 0-3.

Liverpool are now 11th with just six points more than Forest, who have escaped the relegation zone for at least 24 hours.
