Bernard Muiruri and Alex Imbusia will miss the match against Wazito through injury.

Sofapaka will miss the services of winger Alex Imbusia and midfielder Bernard Muiruri when they take on Wazito FC in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) clash on Sunday at Wundanyi Grounds.

The two teams will be returning to action after nearly two months out owing to the suspension of sporting activities in the country due to the Covid-19 menace.

Speaking ahead of the match, coach Ken Odhiambo revealed that he will be without the pair who are out with injuries. Imbusia has a foot problem while Muiruri has been sidelined with a groin issue.

“We have two concerns, Alex Imbusia and Benard Muiruri will miss Sunday’s tie due to foot and groin injury respectively. Despite the two setbacks, the rest of the squad is in good shape for the match,” he told the club’s official website.

Sofapaka currently sits in the 12th position and Odhiambo admitted that it has been a tough year for Batoto ba Mungu.

It has been one of the most difficult and challenging legs, we had targets unfortunately we had a tough leg full of mixed results. We currently sit twelfth on the log and with a club of our stature it is a position we shouldn’t be at, we ought to be among the clubs topping the league. With two games at hand to play, we want to begin positively and turn our season around for a solid second leg,” he added.

The FKF Premier League resumed on Friday with a match between Kariobangi Sharks and Kakamega Homeboyz, a match Sharks won by a solitary goal. More matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
