Sofapaka will return to action on Wednesday when they face Mathare United, with hopes that changes in the goalkeeping department will bring immediate improvements
FKF Premier League side Sofapaka FC have suspended goalkeeper Edward Olak and goalkeeping coach Wilson Obungu after yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Tusker FC.

Batoto ba Mungu conceded both goals in the second half, courtesy of an Ian Simiyu brace, a result that left the club deep in the relegation zone.
Without urgent improvements, Sofapaka risks a prolonged fight for survival in the league.
The first goal, in particular, raised questions over Olak’s performance.
A routine cross was mishandled, allowing the ball to slip past him as Tusker took the lead and avenged last season’s 7-1 defeat inflicted by the 2009 league champions.
In response, the club has decided to sideline both Olak and Obungu, a former Kenyan international, for an undisclosed period.
“When something is not working, you sometimes have to find out why,” Sofapaka CEO Herbert Kunga told Mozzart Sport. “We have noticed a weakness in that department, so we have asked the duo to step aside temporarily while we evaluate the situation. Olak remains our player and Obungu our coach, but for now, we need to shake things up and see how we can improve.”
Kunga emphasized the club’s determination to turn its fortunes around and avoid a relegation battle that has plagued Sofapaka in recent seasons.
“We have to change things. We cannot afford to linger in the relegation zone, and everyone at the club understands the need for positive results,” he said. “The coaching staff and management are doing everything possible to ensure performance improves, and I strongly believe we will start winning consistently.”
Sofapaka will return to action on Wednesday when they face Mathare United, with hopes that changes in the goalkeeping department will bring immediate improvements.
