Following an injury suffered during Chelsea's 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday, Carney Chukwuemeka has undergone surgery on his left knee.
Chelsea's official statement reveals that the 19-year-old will now embark on a rehabilitation phase at Cobham. It's been reported that his anticipated recovery period is around six weeks.
The talented player managed to net an extraordinary goal during Chelsea's 3-1 loss to West Ham United on Sunday. Regrettably, his time on the field was cut short as he had to exit the match due to a knee injury.
The former Aston Villa youngster has made a noteworthy rise since the start of the season. His performances have been so impressive that he was chosen to start both of Chelsea's initial Premier League matches. Sadly, his progress has been halted by the troublesome knee.
