KuPS play IFK Mariehamn in the quarterfinal

Kenyan international Collins Sichenje is on course to win his first trophy in Finland after his side KuPS progressed to the quarters of the Finnish Cup.

KuPS saw off HIFK by a solitary goal on Thursday courtesy of Gabriel Bispo to book a place in the last eight.

They are set to face off with IFK Mariehamn for a place in the semifinals, a match that they will play on the road.

However, Sichenje did not feature in the match as it came very soon considering he was on national team duty with the Harambee Stars as late as Sunday.

KuPS started their Cup campaign in the Round of 32 where they edged HJK 2-0 at the end of May.

They are the holders and will be aiming to defend the Cup they won in 2022 after beating Inter 1-0.

Sichenje has become a key player for KuPS since moving to Finland at the start of the season on loan from AIK, making 10 appearances, nine in the league, and one in the cup.
