Olwande, Ngunyi and Otieno all underwent medical surgeries.

Kariobangi Sharks coach William Muluya has disclosed that three of his players will be out for long after they underwent surgeries.

Defender Samwel Olwande, attacker Patrick Otieno and young midfielder Patrick Ngunyi all went under the knife. Olwande was operated on his ankle while Otieno and Ngunyi had their knees dissected.

They are both unlikely to feature for the team again this season this comes after Muluya revealed that the two are set for a lengthy layoff.

Samuel Olwande, Patrick Otieno, and Patrick Ngunyi all underwent surgery and we expect them to be out for long,” Muluya said after his side’s 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz on Friday.

Defenders Tom Teka and Daniel Sakari both sat out of the game against the Nicholas Muyoti-led team but Muluya expects them to be back in action soon.

Daniel Sakari and Tom Teka have minor issues and they should be back soon,” he added.

On his team’s title ambitions, Muluya said his team is no longer a small team in the league adding that it’s time they lifted the title.

We are no longer a small or new team in this league because we’ve been here for a while now. What’s left now is for us to live the title and I believe it’s something that we can achieve,” he concluded.

Sharks are currently third in the FKF Premier League with 31 points after 16 rounds of league matches. Next for them is an away match against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday 22nd May at Narok County Stadium.
