Goalkeeper Kevin Ouru joins Sharks from Green Commandos. He will compete for playtime with John Otieno and Gideon Ogweno
Kariobangi Sharks have continued with their mass recruitment of players as this time they have bolstered their goalkeeping department with the signing of Kevin Ouru.
The custodian joins the 2018 FKF Cup champions from the Kakamega High School side, Green Commandos who ply their trade in Division One.
Ouru will face stiff competition for places with John Otieno and Gideon Ogweno currently ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.
Sharks confirmed the signing of the custodian from Green Commandos following a string of impressive performances for the side in Division One.
“Kevin Ouru has arrived. The valiant young shot-stopper joins from Green Commandos,” read a post from Kariobangi Sharks.
This follows the exit of Brandon Obiero who was the first-choice keeper at the end of last season after joining the club from Coast Stima at the start of the 2020-2021 season.
Another custodian Brian Olang'o also left his side Kariobangi Sharks after two seasons with the side as he aimed to seek greener pastures and had trials with unnamed Egyptian clubs.
Sharks were rocked by the exits of Eric Mmata, Tom Teka, Boniface Onyango, Brian Olang, Brandon Obiero, Samul Olwande, Patilah Omoto, Felix Oluoch, Steve Ochieng, Douglas Mokaya, Alphonce Omija, Enock Wanyama, Brian Olang'o, Brandon Obiero, and Ziyadi Kiwanuka.
