Shabana's push for promotion continues after licking Mara Sugar

Murang'a Seal humiliated Kajiado to remain on course in achieving automoatic promotion

Shabana have made yet another stride towards gaining automatic promotion to the topflight after beating Mara Sugar 2-0 at the Gusii Stadium on Sunday.

Following the win, Shabana not only consolidated their stay at the summit of the second tier but moved to two points within hitting the half a century as well.

Shabana grabbed the lead in the 16th minute through Peter Ogechi with former Vihiga United attacking midfielder Isaac Otieno settling the contest after scoring the second goal in the 66th minute.

Muranga Seal 5-0 Kajiado FC

Similarly, second placed Murang’a Seal kept their hopes of gracing top-flight football next season high after thumping Kajiado FC 5-0 at the St. Sebastian Park.

Seal have 41 points, seven off Shabana but the Vincent Nyaberi-coached side have a chance to whittle the gap down to a point if they emerge victorious in the two matches in hand.

Goals from the evergreen John Kiplagat, Fabian Adikiny, Titus Kapchanga, Erick ‘Makara’ Juma and Henry Omollo sealed the big win for Seal.

Migori Youth 2-1 Mombasa Elite

In other matches played on Sunday, Migori Youth secured their ninth win of the season after edging Mombasa Elite at the Migori Stadium.

The host scored through Kevin Haggai and Lucky Musyoki. Elite got their consolation goal through Emmanuel Lunalo.

MCF 2-0 Silibwet

MCF handed the struggling Silibwet Leons a 2-0 defeat at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Rama Mwambura and Hussein Abimack were on target for MCF.

Darajani Gogo 2-0 SS Assad

Darajani Gogo also recorded a 2-0 win over SS Assad at the Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Former Mathare United forward Ronald Okello and Nassur Ramadhan got the job done for the league debutants.
