Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Shabana FC reaped a significant windfall in their clash against Gor Mahia at Gusii Stadium.
The club announced that gate collections from Sunday’s fixture totaled Kshs 3,157,500, marking one of their most lucrative matches since returning to the top flight in 2023.

Tickets for the encounter were priced at Kshs 2,000 for VVIPs, Kshs 1,000 for VIPs, and Kshs 300 for the regular section.
Sales commenced as early as 8:00 a.m., with the stadium reaching full capacity by midday, painting the stands in a sea of Shabana's red and white and Gor Mahia's green and white
“We collected a gross revenue of Kshs 3,157,500. Thank you to everyone who made it to Gusii Stadium; it was great seeing the stadium painted red and white,” the club posted on social media.
The revenue haul not only reinforced Shabana’s financial growth but also saw the club surpass the million-shilling mark once again.
The club earned Kshs 2,211,600 more from their previous fixture against Nairobi United, where they had banked just Kshs 945,900.
Sunday’s figure represents the second-highest gate collection since Shabana’s return to the FKF Premier League, with their record Kshs 5,019,800 earned from last season’s same fixture, despite security challenges.
On the pitch, however, the game ended in a goalless draw, with both sides displaying solid performances.
While the result failed to deliver maximum points for Shabana, it offered some consolation after their 3-1 defeat to Nairobi United from the previous week.
The draw extended Shabana’s winless run against Gor Mahia to five matches, with the club yet to secure a victory over K'Ogalo in the fixture since making return to the top tier.
