Hashim Sempala left Tusker FC with the Brewers having five games to play to the end of the campaign, and having qualified for CAF Champions League
Former Tusker FC midfielder Hashim Sempala is settling in well and enjoying life at his new club, Kabwe Warriors of Zambia, thanks to his new colleagues.
Sempala heaped praises on this new teammates and coaches, noting that they had shown utmost professionalism in welcoming him and helping him settle in the team with ease
"They are good people, welcoming and professionals. Everyone at the team is friendly and professional and I am working hard in the preseason so that I will be ready when the new season starts. I have done my best to settle in also by doing everything in a professional way," Hashim noted.
On why he chose to join Kabwe Warriors despite numerous offers from other clubs including Kagera Sugar, URA, Power Dynamos among others, Sempala revealed that Kabwe Warriors aligned with his personal goals and the fact that they are playing continental football made it easy for him to pick his destination after Tusker.
"Kabwe is in the CAF Confederation Cup and it will give me the exposure I need although there were other teams that are not playing CAF competitions that were running towards me for my signature. I believe Kabwe will be the perfect fit for me to achieve my goals when the next season kicks off," the former Gor Mahia midfielder stated.
With his new outfit, Sempala is determined to help the team qualify for group stages and also finish the coming season in a position that will guarantee them continental football again.
"First of all to make the team qualify for group stages, and go back for continental football again the following season. I believe it is another platform to show the world what I can do. I challenged myself to take on the Zambian league as I believe it will help in achieving my long-term goal," he finished.
The midfielder left Tusker for the Zambian outfit in July after his contract with the Brewers lapsed, putting an end to his second stint with the club, a side he first joined in 2016 and won the league and FKF Cup titles the same year. He had a brief stay at Gor Mahia in mid-2019 before returning to Tusker four months later.
