Salah brings derby delight! Liverpool don't shine, but they're too bright for Everton

Everton offer an uninspiring display as the dominant Reds run out 2-0 winners
Liverpool claimed Merseyside bragging rights, but they needed their opponents to give away a red card and a penalty so they could finally break their stubborn defence and claim a deserved 2-0 victory at Anfield.
It was all Reds from start to finish. Jurgen Klopp's team held the ball, created chances, and penetrated the box, but a lack of a final ball and some brave Everton defending made the home crowd wait much longer for a deserved breakthrough.

Sean Dyche had no choice but to set up his team ultra-defensively, but Ashley Young's sending off minutes before the break made the Blues' mission even more daunting. In the end, a Michael Keane handball in the box was deemed unacceptable, and Mohamed Salah got the chance to put his team in front from the spot. The Egyptian made no mistake as he struck a powerful kick past Jordan Pickford to finally break the deadlock. There was no getting back for the ten-man Toffees.
Salah has now scored six Premier League goals for Liverpool against Everton, making him the second-highest scorer for Liverpool in this fixture, with only the legendary captain Steven Gerrard (9) having more goals.

The Egyptian has come close minutes earlier, and he thought his shot was destined for the net. However, James Tarkowski did great to dive ahead of the shot and block it with his backside. The visitors deserved a lot of credit for their defensive efforts with ten men but in the end, they couldn't survive wave after wave of Liverpool's pressure.
Salah wrapped up the victory deep in added time, finishing off an expert counter-attack just as Dyche's team tried desperately to get some bodies in Alisson's area. Game over.
