Tusker fell 5-0 on aggregate to the Egyptian giants

Tusker right back Daniel Sakari has challenged his teammates to replicate the lessons they picked from their 5-0 humiliation in the hands of Egyptian giants Zamalek in the playoff and advance further in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Kenyan champions were brutally bundled out of the CAF Champions League by Zamalek going down 5-0 on aggregate but all is not lost as they will have a chance to redeem themselves in the second tier of the continental inter-club tournament.

Sakari said the heavy loss tagged along with tactical lessons that he believes will aid them progress further in the Confederation Cup where they are join Gor Mahia at the playoff stage.

Gor advanced to the playoff with ease after their opponents Al Alhy Merowe of Sudan failed to travel for the return leg of the second preliminary round and hence were ejected out of the tournament.

"We picked some crucial tactical lessons against Zamalek which I feel will help us in the Confederation Cup if we put them in practice. Apart from the tactics, facing a club of Zamalek's caliber helped us develop thick skin and I think we can now face any opponent in the continent," said the Harambee Stars defender.

Sakari who joined the brewers from Kariobangi Sharks said the confidence derived from the fixture will go along way in their quest to bag points in the league with ease.

Tusker who are the defending champions lost their opening game of the season to AFC Leopards and will be hoping to catch up with the rest when they honour their matches in hand.

"The league matches are equally tough but teams that play at the continental stage always find it easy to win domestic matches. We want to get our title defence on track before the playoff," he added.
