Only two games separate Tusker from the CAF Confederation Cup Group Stages

Tusker FC hope to become only the second Kenyan side to make it to the Group Stages of the CAF Confederation Cup with defender Daniel Sakari upbeat about their chances.

The reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions face CS Sfaxien in the Playoffs after being relegated from the Champions League by Zamalek SC.

The former Kariobangi Sharks right wing-back was confident that should the players give their all in the clash they can overcome the Tunisian giants.

“I know if we all put our efforts together we will be able to beat Sfaxien, the mood in the camp is positive, everyone is in high spirits and we are just waiting for the match,” said Sakari.

The clash will not be a walk in the park with Sfaxien starting the season with a bang as they currently sit at the summit of the Tunisian Ligue 1 with the club having pedigree in the competition having won it three times.

Sakari noted that the 5-0 aggregate humbling at the hands of Zamalek in the Champions League was a learning curve as they will be out to right the wrongs of the clash.

“The game against Zamalek was a learning process, we learned a lot of things we know their playing style is almost similar to CS Sfaxien which we are going to face over the weekend,”

“The lessons we picked up from the loss we will look to implement them against Sfaxien because the Zamalek game was an eye-opener,” concluded Sakari.

The clash is slated for a 3 PM kick-off at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 28 November.
