The two teams face off in Machakos on Monday afternoon

Tusker, right back Daniel Sakari has expressed optimism about the team picking up maximum points when they play the AFC Leopards on Monday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The two league giants, who have yet to find rhythm in the season, will clash on Monday, with both eyeing three points as well as bragging rights.

Sakari tipped the brewers to have an easy time caging Leopards and bag their fifth win of the season, which will boost their chances of getting to the top half of the table.

Tusker have won four matches, drawn twice, and lost five matches, a run that places them in unfamiliar territory in the lower half, putting their title chances at risk.

Sakari believes that the preparations they have been making have ironed out the areas of concern and will leave Machakos with three points for the second time in the season.

Tusker beat Nairobi City Stars 3-1 in their last game that was stated in Machakos, a facility that has become a darling to Nairobi-based clubs owing to the unavailability of venues within the city.

"I am confident that we will beat the Leopards on Monday. We have been training hard for the clash, as we are desperate for the points and a return to the top of the table," said the Kenyan international.

Tusker last played a league match on November 11 against City Stars. The team was supposed to have played Bidco United on Tuesday, but the game was postponed under unclear circumstances.

Sakari has, in the meantime, rubbished a suggestion indicating that the long spell of inactivity has had a negative impact on the good run they were on before the FIFA break.

"We have used the long break well. Everyone is in good shape and looking forward to the game," he added.

The Leopards have won once, drawn seven times, and lost four matches.
