Rossonerri, take notes! Inter run riots at De Kuyp to see off Feyenoord

Nerazzurri beat the Dutch team 2-0 and even miss the penalty in the UCL knockout phase first leg

That's how you deal with Feyenoord. Unlike their city rival, AC Milan - who lost to the Eredivisie powerhouse recently at De Kuyp 1-0, which proved crucial for this Champions League playoff tie - Internazionale showed no mercy.

Simone Inzaghi's side celebrated a deserved 2-0 away win in the UCL last 16 first leg and are on the verge of reaching the quarter-finals, where they'll meet the defeater of the Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen clash.

Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez found the back of the net, while Piotr Zielinski missed a penalty that could have sealed the whole thing for the Nerazzurri.

It was quite a dull encounter in the opening half despite some decent actions by the Italians, especially when Nicolo Barela showcased his incredible set of skills. His perfect cross found Thuram on the far post around the 38th-minute mark, and Lillian's son made an acrobatic move to slice it with his right foot for 0-1.

Robin van Persie seemed nervous in the dugout in his first-ever Champions League game as a coach as his team struggled to make any profound impact. What followed was Inter's second goal of the game. Feyenoord's defence was horrible once again, leaving too much space for Lautaro Martinez, and the player of his ilk doesn't miss such opportunities. The Argentine knocked it firmly under the crossbar to give his side a massive advantage in this two-legged tie.

Zielinski could have wrapped it up from the spot 15 minutes later, but Feyenoord's keeper denied his effort to save that tiny bit of hope ahead of the return leg in Milan next Tuesday.
