Roma's massive clear-out: Dovbyk & Ferguson OUT, United's cast-off striker IN?

The Giallorossi scored just ten goals in as many Serie A and Europa League games, and the two centre-forwards could pay the price
Roma currently sit in third Serie A position and, considering their rivals' form, they seem to have a chance to enter the title race. However, their lack of efficiency is the problem Gian Piero Gasperini has to solve as soon as possible. Otherwise, another trophyless season awaits the Giallorossi.
Namely, in ten Serie A and UEFA Europa League games, the Wolfess scored as many goals, which is heavily subpar. Matias Soule netted three times, while Paulo Dybala, Wesley, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Evan Ndicka, Gianluca Mancini, Bryan Cristante, and Artem Dovbyk each found the net once.
Given that the Ukrainian mentioned above and his fellow striker Evan Ferguson combined for only one goal despite being the first in charge of scoring, they could pay the costliest price.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma could part ways with both centre-forwards already in the January Transfer Window!

Since the Irishman is a Brighton loanee in Rome, ending the cooperation with him wouldn't represent such a problem for the Serie A side, as it's hard to believe the Giallorossi would activate his €40 million buyout clause.
As for Dovbyk, Roma would hardly get the money they invested in him last year when they splurged €30.5 million to sign him from the Spanish Girona.
However, sources from the Boot also claim that Roma have found a replacement for the duo - Man United's Joshua Zirkzee!
🚨 Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a January target for Serie A club Roma.

After the arrival of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha at Old Trafford, the Dutchman is out of Ruben Amorim's plans, so his imminent departure is expected. The Red Devils brought him from Bologna for €42.5 million, but he fell seriously short, scoring only seven goals in 54 appearances.
At Stadio Olimpico, they believe the return to the Italian top flight could revive Zirkzee's net-busting capabilities, especially since it worked for Rasmus Hojlund, who made a phoenix-like rise at Napoli.
Today, the Wolfess will try to get back on the winning track against Sassuolo on the road (17.00), after recording only one triumph in the last four games in all competitions. At the same time, the Giallorossi will cheer for their city rivals, Lazio, against Juventus tonight (22.45), as the Old Lady is one of Roma's primary challengers in the Scudetto race.
