Posta Rangers are angling for a top five finish in the league this season.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) form team Posta Rangers hope to stay on the upward trajectory and finish among the top five in this season's top-flight campaign.

Rangers got off sluggishgly but have since picked pace under the tutelage of coach Stanley Okumbi with the season's target set at nothing less than a top five.

Award-winning goalkeeper Kelvin Opiyo disclosed the club's target to Mozzart Sport after a rollercoaster month in which he was crowned March Player of the Month. .

The former Thika United goalkeeper revealed that Posta’s target this season is to finish in the top five brackets after battling on the wrong end of the table in recent seasons.

“Our aim is to finish in the top five because the team is good and has experienced players, some are playing in the National Under 23 team and I think the team is very much capable of finishing in the top five places,”

“The support from the management and everyone at the club is immense so I think we can achieve a top-five finish this season,” said Opiyo in an interview with KTN.

The goalkeeper recently became only the third goalkeeper to win the Player of the Month award joining James Saruni and Justin Ndikumana in the illustrious list.

Opiyo credited the club’s goalkeeper trainer Joseph Ruto for his impressive results that has seen him keep three straight clean sheets in the league.

“Our goalkeeper trainer coach Ruto has really helped me, he made me become the player I am today and we have really been giving our all in training,”

“We were one of the bottom teams but we were able to climb up the table, getting the award was a surprise but I knew the more I kept pushing, God would eventually reward me,” added Opiyo.
