
Resurgent Soldiers shoot down Sharks

Ulinzi Stars beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 at Narok
Ulinzi Stars kickstarted their second leg fixtures with a resounding 2-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks at Narok Stadium to take their points tally to 21 points.
The Soldiers opened the scoring in the 29th minute courtesy pf a fine strike by Masita Masuta.
Getting a rare start, Alex Masinde floated in in a good ball that Masuta cooly controlled and slotted past a helpless Brian Bwire.
It was Masuta who was involved in the second goal again, this time teeing up Clinton Omondi in the 39th minute to ensure the Soldiers bagged all the three points.
On resumption, Kariobangi Sharks came with a motive to stage a comeback but Ulinzi stood firm, with Captain James Saruni leading from the back with some superb saves.
Julius Masaba was put through in the 49th, he unleashed a fierce shot that was dealt with by the spiralling Saruni.
Sharks were the first to make changes as William Muluhya bringing in Peter Lwasa for Erick Juma in the 53rd minute.
He went ahead to wring more changes bringing in Shaphan Oyugi and Tom Teka for James Mazembe and John Kuol two minutes later.
Ulinzi made their first change in the hour mark, bringing in Benard Ongoma for an injured defensive general in Boniface Andayi.
Sharks made their final change for the afternoon bringing in Robert Onyango for John Omondi as Ulinzi responded with a double sub, bringing Omar Boraafya and Churchill Muloma for Elvis Nandwa and Oscar Wamalwa
This was the first time that Ulinzi were hosting a game at Narok Stadium after shifting base from Green Stadium, Kericho.
