This is the second time that reports from Spain connect the Royal club and Bayern's defender
When Ferland Mendy and David Alaba got injured last season for Real Madrid, an unfamiliar name stepped up - Eduardo Camavinga. The French international is a midfielder and Real brought him in for that purpose, but this was an emergency and he did well. But the Royal club didn’t give 31 million euros for the 20-year old kid to play as a full back. In the meantime, Alaba came back from injury and is a starting defender this season, but he is partnering Antonio Rudiger in the middle of defense. The reason – Eder Militao has a season ending injury, so Alaba stepped in to play a central defender. Fran Garcia is currently the left back, but according to Marca, Real has another idea – to bring Alphonso Davies.
The Canadian international has a deal with Munich until 2025 and is not even among the top 10 paid players on the team. His good friend is David Alaba, former Bayern defender who came to Real as a free agent and is now urging Davies to do the same. Real want to strengthen the squad with a few more perspective young players (along with Jude Bellingham (20) Eduardo Camavinga (20) and Aurelien Tchouameni (23)) and Davies fits the bill. There are no negotiations (at the moment) between the Bavarians and their Canadian defender, but Bayern executives are aware of the situation. On the other hand, Marca reports that Real has made Davies their top transfer target (apart from Mbappe off course) for 2024. That way, the price could be lowered since Davies will go into his last year of contract.
