The draw was conducted on Friday evening in Doha, Qatar ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament that starts in November
With only 233 days left to the official kick off at the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup, the five African teams that managed to book their ticket to the prestigious quadrennial football tournament – Senegal, Morocco, Cameroon, Tunisia, Ghana - came to know about the opponents they will face later on in November when the tournament gets underway.
This is after the official draw that took place on Friday evening in Doha, Qatar.
Reigning African champions Senegal have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Qatar, Netherlands and South American nation Equador.
The Lions of Teranga, led by historic coach Aliou Cisse and Liverpool talisman Sadio Mane, will open their campaign against Netherlands before taking on the other group members.

In Group D, The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia will line up alongside reigning World Champions France, Denmark and the winner of the intercontinental playoff clash (Peru/UAE/Australia).
The Jalel Kadri currently coached side will be hoping that they can at least, this time, manage to get out of their group after five failed attempts (1978, 1998, 2022, 2006, and 2018).
Morocco, who proceeded to Qatar with a breezing win over Democratic Republic of Congo, earned a spot in Group F alongside 2018 third place finishers Belgium, 2018 finalists Croatia and Canada, who will be headed to the World Cup for the first time in 36 years (since 1986).

Cameroon, who snatched the ticket to Qatar in dramatic fashion as they toppled Algeria with a last gasp goal, have been pooled in Group G alongside favourites and five time World Cup winners Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.
The fifth African nation Ghana has been pooled in Group H where they will face Portugal, Uruguay and Korea.
An interesting battle awaits Ghana as they will once again reunite with Luis Suarez who is famously remembered from his handball on the line that ended up costing Ghana a place in the semifinals of the 2010 World Cup.
