Posta are now without four of their dependable players including Curtis Wekesa, Vincent Wasambo and Peter Oudu

Coach John Kamau will have to do without the services of center back Bernard Ondiek when his side takes on the AFC Leopards on Saturday afternoon at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

Ondiek was stretched off in the second half of their match against KCB after suffering a quadriceps muscle strain on his right leg, with the match ending in a stalemate.

The hard-tackling defender has been an integral figure in the Rangers squad, forming a formidable partnership with Kennedy Owino at the heart of Posta's defense.

In the ten matches that Ondiek has been involved in, the mailmen have been hard to crack at the back, boasting one of the best defensive records, having conceded a partly five goals, one less than Gor Mahia, who have conceded four goals.

Ondiek will be out for at least six weeks and joins Rangers growing injury list, which includes Curtis Wekesa, Vincent Wasambo and Peter Oudu. The trio suffered knee, foot, and hamstring injuries during Bandari, Nzoia, and Police matches respectively.

The right-footed center back weighed in on his latest setback, saying he was disappointed to be out but remained optimistic that he would soon be fully fit.

"Injuries at any given point in a player's career are always a major setback because they derail your progress. I am definitely devastated to be out due to the latest injury, but I am hopeful to soon reunite with the group."

The former Gor Mahia stopper further added that he is confident the rest of the squad will step up in his absence.

"It's a chance for other teammates to come through, and I am confident whoever will be called up will step up and help the team maintain the top spot," he concluded.

Rangers will be seeking to bounce back to winning ways when they face AFC Leopards after recording back-to-back draws against Kakamega Homeboyz and KCB.

A win for the Leopards, who are a point above the red zone, will see Tomas Trucha's men climb to 13th position on the log.
