Posta Rangers skipper Kennedy Owino has revealed that collective responsibility from the playing unit has been the key to the club's positive start to the season.

The Postal Corporation-sponsored team tops the log after the opening six fixtures of the season.

The mailmen are having a perfect start to the season and have not tasted defeat heading into the latest FIFA international break.

Despite freely scoring upfront and keeping the highest number of clean sheets, Rangers also boast the meanest defense in the league, having just conceded a goal so far.

The club's captain, Owino, attributes the latest performance to the team's defensive set and maximizing chances created upfront.

"We had a club talk before the commencement of the season in which we ironed out areas of concern, and I am glad the talks yielded fruit, going by the results we've posted. We are having a good run in the league, and all this is thanks to the playing unit, which has taken collective responsibility for each match we've played so far. There is good chemistry, and our defense starts with our attackers upfront, which has made work easier on our end at the back.

“They too have been clinical, utilizing every goal-scoring opportunity that presents itself and not forgetting our custodian, John Njau, who has been phenomenal between the sticks,” said the skipper.

The former Gor Mahia center back, who was closely sought by Tusker for a move to the Ruaraka-based club but decided to stay put with the John Kamau-coached side, adds that the new players have quickly and efficiently blended with the squad, which has made their arrival impactful at the club.

"The club went into the market to get additions that would help boost areas of concern, and I am glad they got the right additions who are the solutions we needed. I would attribute it to the majority of them having worked with the coach, which has made it easier for them to blend into the coach's philosophy."

The hard-tackling center back, who has two assists and a goal to his name, has, however, downplayed being a title favorite, but vowed to help the team post positive results.

"It's very early to begin title talks because it's way early into the season. We are taking one game at a time, and I hope to assist more and score as well in order to rake in as many maximum points as possible that will count at the end of the campaign.”

Next up for the Rangers will be an away tie against FC Talanta.
