To him, Italian football was what water is to fish. Paul Pogba has been immense as a Juventus player - and he's now going back! According to reports from the Italian media, the French international will sign a three-year contract worth up to $10 million per season and return to Turin.

Pogba's adventure with Manchester United offered more downs than ups. Even though he showed glimpses of his unquestionable talent, Pogba was never at ease at Old Trafford for reasons unknown. He failed to deliver the maturity and leadership expected of him. That's why he decided to depart England when his current contract expires at the end of June.

Nicknamed Octopus by the Juve faithful, Pogba was always considered one who got away and could come back. Ironically, he will sign the contract with pretty much the same parameters as the one that was initially offered and then withdrawn from Paulo Dybala.

The 29-year-old Frenchman should be in his prime years and is returning to the club he loves so much that he's ready to reject the offer from PSG in his homeland to go back to Italy.

Pogba would undoubtedly earn more in Paris, but he would not feel quite at home as he feels with coach Massimiliano Allegri, with whom the Frenchman celebrated two Scudettos. In Manchester, he spent six difficult years, even suffering from depression. It's why he needs stability and serenity, as well as sporting success. In England, he only won the Europa League and the League Cup in 2016/17, his first season at United. The Bianconeri's goal is to go back in the Scudetto race and Pogba is the right man to start a new winning cycle. In England, he was also very limited by injuries (62 games played out of 114 between 2019 and 2022), and this is the only aspect that worries Bianconeri a bit.

It will take a few more steps to polish the final details, but most of it is done. Pogba is returning to Juve.
