AFC Leopards' scoring problem persisted as Gor Mahia struggled to breakdown the resolute Ingwe defence
Not the best of qualities was on the field of play at Nyayo Stadium when Kenya's biggest club football fixture, the Mashemeji Derby pitting AFC Leopards against Gor Mahia, was finally hosted on Sunday, 30 March.
Both teams struggled to grab the game by the scruff of the neck, resulting in a barren draw that did little to help both teams' title ambitions this season.

Gad MathewsGoalkeeper
Gad Mathews failed to make a single save in the game as AFC Leopards had zero shots on target, but he marshaled his backline well to bag the clean sheet.

The defender kept all the AFC Leopards forward quiet all afternoon and also chipped in with a number of runs that broke the lines to progress the ball forward.

The defender was solid during the whole derby, although he had a shaky start to the game with AFC Leopards attackers finding him napping on a couple of occassions.

The left-back was decent in defense but had a number of chances on the other end of the pitch, which could have earned his team victory had he converted.

The left-back started in the middle of the pack in a tactical tweak by head coach Sinisia Mihic, but he struggled to contribute to the attack.

Lawrence Juma was his usual self in the match as he did the dirty work in midfield and helped Gor Mahia have some control in the middle of the pack.

The Ghanaian import controlled the middle of the pack well and helped Gor Mahia have the edge in the midfield battle especially in the second half.

The right back whipped in a number of dangerous crosses, which the Gor Mahia forwards could have turned into brilliant assists and also had a solid game defensively.
