John Stones' late winner against Wolves today is not the first time he has rescued City this season. Just ask the Gunners
In the Premier League title race, it's those tiny things, nuances that decide the final outcome. And every single point counts; every game is a sort of decisive one.
Therefore, it's needless to say how important this 2-1 late away win at Wolves means for Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side were on the verge of a somewhat unexpected draw when John Stones struck late to award his team with a win.
Interestingly, that's his only second goal of the season so far, with the first one being that late equalizer against Arsenal at Etihad.
Against the Gunners, he netted in the eighth minute of the stoppage time; against Wolves, it was the fifth.
Two goals so far this season, both scored in stoppage-time ⏰

John Stones. Clutch. 😤 pic.twitter.com/Cd5ZG6gGhi
Those two Stones' late heroics saved the Cityzens as much as three points, which could eventually prove crucial in the title quest.
The versatile player - who can cover both centre-back and holding-midfielder positions - proved to be Pep's saviour. Like a basketball player who is given the ball in the ultimate seconds of the game to make the clutch shot, Stones is definitely built differently. And rivals' fans surely hate the guy for a good reason.
