Out of the Blue: Ake stays at Manchester City

The 27-year-old defender was close to joining Chelsea, but the deal is off, The Athletic reveals
Raheem Sterling pulled the leg, but Nathan Ake won't follow him after all.
According to The Athletic, the 27-year-old Dutch defender will stay at the Etihad, and he is pleased with such an outcome.

"It is understood to be a mutual decision for Ake to remain at City, with the club thought to be happy for him to remain at the Etihad.
"The potential transfer to Chelsea did not advance because the terms of the deal were not right for City, " reports David Ornstein.
With the Ake deal off, Chelsea turned to PSG defender Presnel Kimpenbe and Senegalese centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
