Ouna was left impressed with the performance of Wethuli against AFC Leopards.
Mathare United head coach Frank Ouna was left impressed by striker Eugene Wethuli's performance against AFC Leopards on Thursday afternoon at Ruaraka Grounds.
The striker who was introduced after the interval in place of Klinsmann Omulanga did well, twice coming close to finding the back of the net against Leopards who held on to pick maximum points.
Wethuli has now featured in just two games since he joined the Slum Boys at the start of the season from National Super League side, Nairobi Stima. He started against Gor Mahia in January and was replaced at the start of the second half by Dani Lual.
Ouna was impressed by his good show against AFC Leopards and the tactician hinted that the player is in line to start the next game against Gor Mahia in a fortnight.

"He did enough to show me that he deserves to start in our next game. He hasn't played much this season but when I brought him on in the second half he did very well, and I am happy with his performance," he said.
Ouna was also concerned with the style of football that his team has been playing. Mathare United players have been going long in recent matches and he says they need to go back to their traditional passing football.
“We have been playing long balls and that is not the Mathare style of play. For us to survive we have to play our style. We cannot be changing the style of play every now and then. We have to pick one struggle,” he added.
Mathare sit rock bottom in the league with a paltry eight points.
