Others are derbies. This is Superclasico

Undestilled passion. Jaw-dropping atmosphere. Crazy love for the game. Half-decent football. And much more as they meet tonight for the 260th time
What's the main difference between the Argentinians and the rest of the world? They have Messi and are the current world champions in football.
Yes, true, but that's only the consequence of something essential that draws the line separating them from all the others.
We love football, they live for it.
If you're puzzled by the previous statement, just tune in tonight around 8 PM and witness the Superclasico. The game of all the games, the battle of all the battles. When Boca Juniors and River Plate, two of Argentina's colossi, collide for the 260th time ever to decide who's better.
When one of the world's most emblematic grounds, Boca's Bombonera opens its steep terraces for thousands of ardent fans. The chants and noise won't stop, not for a second of this larger-than-life tie that has seen thousands of football magicians during the years, creating some special and unique scent along with supper-passionate pundits and commentators whose voices have added some more spice to that already colourful meal.

And nothing can ruin that. Not even the exodus of those top-of-the-notch players that have been leaving Argentina in masses to join European heavyweights in the last few decades. The omnipresent desire compensates for the lack of quality, and a handful of veterans (like former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani, now playing for Boca) make sure the spectacle is delivered.
Today, they meet in the domestic championship, with Boca desperately looking for a victory that could take them higher up the table, currently sitting in the disappointing ninth place, with just seven points from the opening six rounds.
On the other hand, River are doing slightly better thanks to ten points to their account.
However, we're positively sure both slots would look for a win that would take them much closer to the top.

The last time they faced off, the match ended in a 15-minute brawl that saw six players being sent off. Even by Superclasico standards, it was a hysterical ending to one of the fiercest rivalries. But who knows what they've got upon the sleeve on Sunday night...
