Since linking up with Abana Abeingo four seasons ago from the third tier, Brian has amassed a total of 11 goals and is two goals shy of his last season’s tally
Kakamega Homeboyz central defender Brian Eshihanda is keen to swell his goal contributions and clean sheet records and inspire himself to a career abroad at the conclusion of the current Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.
Eshihanda, who started his career as a striker turning out for GDC Nakuru in the third division before switching to Abana Ba Ingo where he had a swap in position, has already scored four goals this season with a brace coming on Friday in Homeboyz 5-0 drubbing of Sofapaka in a league action staged at the Bukhungu Stadium.
Despite switching to a defensive role, the 23-year-old defender who was named Homeboyz's joint top scorer last season, in an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport, revealed that he was looking to hit double digits goal contributions and clean sheets in a bid to woo scouts and secure a move abroad.

The towering defender opened his goal account against Bandari scoring the lone goal of the game to gift the Mozzart Bet cup holders three points and repeated the heroics in a Homeboyz 3-3 stalemate with FC Talanta before doubling his tally on Friday.
The defender who boosts off an astonishing speed and elegant athleticism has also collected four clean sheets under his belt this term.
"Everyone has to play a part in the quest to win titles at the club. Personally, I am hoping to reach the ten-goal mark while at the same time playing my primary role as a defender," said the former GDC Nakuru forward.
“My target is to turn pro at the end of the season and the only way of doing it is by posting impressive results here at Kakamega, I am confident if I can achieve the set objectives then next season I will earn a dream move,” he added.
On what inspired him to swap positions, the aspiring footballer said, “At times as a footballer you must take bitter decisions to realize your dreams. I am sure if I was playing as a striker no one was going to notice me at this stage, changing positions has given me exposure, and now I am a cup winner,” he explained.
Eshihanda further hailed praise at his coach Patrick Odhiambo, who he believes has been instrumental in his transition as a player and indicated that he would like to reward the gaffer with a FKF Premier League title at the conclusion of the season after bagging the Mozzart Bet title in 2022-2023 campaign.
"The coach wants us to be as competitive as we can, he has really helped me in the process and I can only reward him with the league title at the end of the season more so after bagging the shield cup last term,” he concluded.
Since linking up with Homeboyz four seasons ago from the third tier, Brian has amassed a total of 11 goals and is two goals shy of his last season’s tally.
