With the win over Al Shamal in the Emir Cup on Tuesday evening, Duhail have now face Rayan in the semifinal.
Kenyan International Michael Olunga scored a goal as Qatari side Duhail SC edged Al Shamal 2-0 in an Emir Cup quarterfinal match played at the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha on Tuesday evening.
The Harambee Stars striker opened the scoring just before the breather, shielding the ball perfectly inside the box before turning and squeezing the ball past Shamal custodian Babacar Seck.

Abdullah Abdulsalam doubled the lead with six minutes left on the club and Duhail held onto for the win and book a semifinal clash against Al Rayan who edged Al Kharitiyath 2-0 in the other quarterfinal match played at the same venue.
Duhail defender Bassam Ali said the win was important for the club as it seeks to bounce back to glory.
"Winning is the most important thing in cup matches because you cannot compensate in another match as your loss means your exit from the competition. We have more time to prepare for the next match and, God willing, the team will continue winning,” he was quoted by the club portal after the match,
“We have gone through difficult circumstances in the recent past - we lost the league but we have to bounce back quickly by correcting mistakes. Al Duhail is a big club and the circumstances we have gone through are normal in all the big clubs but the most important thing is how we swiftly respond by winning cup and league games,” he added.

Al Gharafa and defending Emir Cup champions Al Sadd will battle in another quarterfinal match game this afternoon as Al Sailiya takes on Al Arabi in the final quarterfinal game.
