Olang'o bagged a clean sheet on his FKF Cup debut for Kariobangi Sharks.
After marking his Kariobangi Sharks debut with a clean sheet, Harambee Stars U20 goalkeeper Brian Olang'o is hoping to be considered for starting roles in the league matches.
The budding goalkeeper who joined the William Muluya coached club at the start of the season from KCB was handed his maiden start during their 2-0 win over Tandaza in a FA Cup round of 32 match played on Wednesday at the Utalii Grounds.
Despite the stiff competition from the duo of Brian Bwire and Brandon Obiero, the 18-year old says the Cup feat is a clear indication that he was ripe for league matches.
Muluya has been preferring Bwire who has a host of Harambee Stars caps under his belt between the posts on league matches, with Obiero who also has a cap against his name deputising him.
"It was dream come true when the coach named me in the starting team against Tandaza. I had been working hard behind the scenes to be ready for any assignment and I am glad, I kept a clean sheet on my first appearance. I hope the coach can also extend the same favour in league matches," he said.

The former national U-17 goalkeeper who spend two seasons at KCB before crossing to Sharks credited his performance against Tandaza to the club's goalkeeper trainer Dick Francis and the challenge from the two senior goalkeepers.
"Francis has shaped me to be a better goalkeeper from the time I began working under him. The other goalkeepers have also played a big role in making the goalkeeper I am today," he said.
With the duo of Bwire and Obiero boasting of Stars caps, Olang'o expressed his desire to be summoned to the senior national team in the future as well as play continental inter-club tournaments matches.
"I am the only one in the department who has not trained with the senior national team. Through hard work and discipline, I believe I will be considered at some point. I also hope that we will be the top team on June 30 or win the Cup and represent the country in continental matches," he added.
