Police confront Coast Rangers, MCF host Hot Stars

Kenya Police head coach Francis Mwangi says the team will draw inspiration from their partnership with their new shirt sponsor in their hunt to open a point gap at the top of the National Super League.

The law enforcers who signed a three-year seal with NutriNuts on Saturday are lined to play a struggling Modern Coast Rangers on Monday at the Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Police are placed third with 39 points, two adrift of league toppers FC Talanta and one off the second placed Shabana who lost 2-1 to Kibera Black Stars on Sunday.

Mwangi who will miss the match on compassionate grounds says the financial boost from their new partners will motivate his players to return to the apex and hold on there until the final round of the season.

"I have never seen my players motivated and ready for a game like this time. The partnership injected the much needed resolve to bag all points. Although I will be away to attend to personal matters, I am certain we will win the match and go top,"he said.

Similarly, Modern Coast Rangers head coach Muhamed Mchulla exuded confidence in sealing the three points and drifting away from the red zone.

Mchua who dramatically returned to the club last week after his intended move to Coast Stima hit a snag said the players were braced up to silence their opponents guns.Modern Coast are placed 16th with 26 points.

"If the team managed to beat Migori Youth away few weeks ago why not Police. We beat them in the first leg and we will be seeking to complete a double over them,"said the former Wazito coach.

In another match scheduled on Monday, debutants MCF will play Kisumu Hot Stars at the Ruaraka grounds.

MCF are ranked ninth with 34 points while Hot Stars who filled in the void left by the defunct Chemelil Sugar are perched 15th with 27 points.
