Itching to create a lasting impression in his first job outside the Kenyan borders Odhiambo also wants a goalkeeper at Biashara United.
Newly appointed Biashara United head coach Patrick Odhiambo has revealed his intentions of strengthening the goalkeeping and striking departments of the club in the summer transfer window.
Odhiambo joined the Tanzanian Premier League outfit early this month from Kakamega Homeboyz where he served as an assistant to coach Nicholas Muyoti.
Hardly weeks after crossing the border, the former Gor Mahia assistant coach wants to beef the two departments which he said had not impressed him for the few days he has been in charge.
The soft spoken tactician said he had cast his net deep in the Tanzanian and Kenyan league in a bid to poach players who will seal the loopholes in the two departments.
"I have been impressed with the quality of players for the few days I have trained them. However, I need a lethal goal poacher and a goalkeeper. The team has the potential to win trophies if we can convert the chances we create in each game," he revealed.
With the Tanzanian competition meandering to homestretch, the former Sony Sugar coach tipped the team to hold on and finish within the top four bracket.
"We are firmly in the top four race despite going for a number of matches without a win. The players are determined to keep close tabs with the top three teams until the last day," he said.
Odhiambo who replaced his compatriot Francis Baraza who surprisingly decamped to relegation battling Kagera Sugar in the meantime said he will formally take charge of the touchline starting next season.
The former Chemelil Sugar boss has been following proceedings from the stands leaving his assistant Marwa Chamberi to call the shots.
"I will take command of the touchline from next season. At the moment, I am training the team and giving instructions from the stands," he added.
