Odera: I still have two seasons before plotting retirement

The 33-year-old noted that he still has two years under his belt.
Nairobi City Stars veteran forward Ezekiel Odera has revealed that he still has two seasons left in his tank before calling time on his career.
Odera has enjoyed a fine season in front of goal for Simba wa Nairobi this season, netting four goals thus far this campaign with his last coming in the 3-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Odera revealed that he plans to retire in 2024 with his career spanning over a decade and has seen him turn for a number of successful clubs including Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
“I still have like two years to play football, that is if everything goes well and I do not suffer any injuries, I give myself two years,” said Odera.
Despite changing coaches in the past two seasons Odera has been trusted by both Sanjin Alagic and Nicholas Muyoti to lead the line and has chipped in with a number of goals.

Odera shared his secret to longevity in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) and noted that he would not relinquish his position to youngsters until they stake a strong claim.
“The secret is just to work hard and I would tell the young players that we are not going to give up opportunities to them easily, they have to work hard and earn it.
We still have a long time to go in football and we have been given a strong challenge from the youngster than we will retire,” added Odera.
