Mwaura says Mathare will cause teams problems in their future assignments.

Nzoia Sugar FC goalkeepers coach Peter Mwaura has warned teams against underrating Mathare United saying the Slum Boys will soon start performing consistently.

Mathare United played out to a two-all draw against Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium on Sunday afternoon. It is a match that many had predicted would be easy for the Millers but the Frank Ouna led outfit fought to salvage a point from the match.

United are still bottom in the league with just 8 points. On Thursday they play title hopefuls AFC Leopards, a match that they will be hoping to cause an upset in and out themselves on the course of moving towards safety.

In an interview, Mwaura warned that teams underrating Mathare United going forward are in for a shocker.

"Let no team underrate Mathare now because they will be shocked. On Sunday they showed some great confidence, they actually came to win they gave a good fight and in the end, we shared the points. I think having a new coach in place is motivating the players and I am very confident that they will soon be out of that danger zone, " he told Mozzart Sport.

The draw against Mathare means Nzoia has never beaten Mathare in a top-flight match and Mwaura says they had hoped to end the run last Sunday.

"We had hoped to get our first-ever win against them. We had the chances which we did not take and in the end, it was a draw. The winless run continues but Hope we will break that run in the near future," he added.
