With six matches lined up, the day’s action is delicately poised to influence both the promotion race and the battle for survival, as teams jostle for crucial points in the closing stages of the campaign.

Migori Youth vs Nzoia Sugar

At Awendo Green Stadium, league leaders Migori Youth face a stern test against Nzoia Sugar in a fixture that could have far-reaching implications at the summit.

Migori heads into the clash holding only a slender advantage over close challengers Mombasa United, separated merely by goal difference, underlining the importance of securing maximum points.

Under the guidance of head coach Sammy Otulo, Migori has found momentum at a crucial juncture and will be targeting a fourth consecutive victory, an outcome that could open a three-point gap at the top.

Their cause is further strengthened by the timely return of attacking duo Syphas Otieno and Fredrick Ologi, both cleared earlier in the week to resume action, providing a significant boost in attacking depth.

It is so welcoming to have both Syphas and Ologi back with the squad for competitive action. It is a massive boost for us because they come at a critical juncture in the title race and will give us immense finishing power,” Otulo stated ahead of the encounter.

Despite enjoying an impressive unbeaten home record, Migori are wary of the threat posed by an in-form Nzoia side coached by Charles Odero.

The visitors arrive on the back of consecutive victories and are determined to maintain momentum as the season approaches its climax.

A win for the Millers would not only extend their winning streak to three matches but also lift them to 45 points and into eighth position on the table.

The clash also carries an added layer of intrigue, with Nzoia aiming to complete a league double over Migori following their narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg at Sudi Stadium.

Gucha Stars vs Mombasa United

In Kisii, at Cardinal Otunga Grounds, Mosocho, Gucha Stars will host title and promotion hopefuls Mombasa United in another pivotal fixture.

The coastal side, now under the stewardship of Hamadi Said following the departure of Gilbert Selebwa, has made an encouraging start under new leadership and will be aiming to register a second consecutive victory.

A win for Mombasa United could see them leapfrog Migori to the summit, depending on the outcome in Awendo.

However, concerns linger over their away form, with the majority of their nine defeats this season coming on the road.

They face a determined Gucha Stars side eager to secure their league status in their debut campaign.

Sitting 13th on 33 points, just six above the relegation zone, the Kisii-based outfit understands the importance of a positive result.

Victory for Sammy Okoth's charges would move them to 36 points and significantly enhance their survival prospects.

The fixture also revives memories of a controversial first-leg meeting that failed to take place, ultimately resulting in Mombasa being awarded the points.

With that backdrop, Sunday’s clash adds another layer of intensity as both sides pursue contrasting ambitions.

3K FC vs Kabati Youth

At Moi Embu Stadium, 3K FC take on relegation-threatened Kabati Youth in a contest that pits promotion aspirations against survival urgency.

3K heads into the fixture in impressive form, riding a four-match winning streak and an unbeaten run stretching nine matches.

The side, coached by Nicodemus Omsete, will be eager to extend that run and strengthen their push for promotion.

“It’s actually a tougher game than it seems on paper. Playing a team that is fighting relegation is hard. They will come here and try to make it difficult for us. We are approaching the game with the seriousness it requires,” Omsete remarked.

Currently fifth on 53 points, a victory could see 3K climb to third place, potentially displacing MOFA on goal difference.

They will also be keen to complete a double over Kabati, having secured a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture.

For Kabati Youth, who sit 17th on 27 points, the stakes are equally high. Locked in a fierce relegation battle, every point is crucial.

A win would lift them to 30 points and provide a vital cushion in their fight to avoid the drop.

Vihiga United vs Equity FC

Meanwhile, at Mumboha Grounds in Luanda, bottom-placed Vihiga United face a daunting challenge against promotion-chasing Equity FC.

Equity, under John Kamara Mbweza, enters the match seeking redemption after back-to-back setbacks, a goalless draw against MOFA and a 1-1 stalemate with Gucha Stars, results that saw them relinquish third place.

Now fourth and two points behind MOFA, the bankers are determined to reclaim an automatic promotion slot.

Victory would take them to 57 points and strengthen their push for top-flight football with eight matches remaining.

However, they must overcome a Vihiga side desperate to revive their fading survival hopes.

Rooted at the bottom of the table with 20 points, Vihiga United have endured a difficult campaign and come into the clash on a three-match winless run.

A positive result for the former FKFPL side could lift them to 23 points and reignite belief in a late escape from relegation.

Elsewhere, Soy United will host Nairobi City Stars, while Kisumu All Stars face Luanda Villa in a crucial relegation six-pointer that could further define the lower end of the table.
