Rainow have a date with Mulembe United at Vapor Grounds
Promotion hopefuls Naivas FC will be looking to move to two points within reach of National Super League leaders Mathare United when they play Mombasa Stars at the Mbaraki Stadium on Sunday.
Naivas who are under the tutelage of Collins Omondi, are placed fourth with fourteen points, five off Mathare, who have been on top of their game since returning to the second tier.
Omondi's charges have won four of their opening seven matches with two ending evenly and a defeat, a run that places them hot on the toes of the top teams.
They take on Mombasa, who are placed ninth with ten points. Should Mombasa capitalize on home advantage and bag three points, they, will scale two places up.
Naivas, Mara, and Mathare are among the teams that have so far laid bare their intentions to jostle for the two available promotion slots.
Last season, Mara missed the chance to get promoted by a whisker, settling for a fourth-place finish behind Migori, Murang'a Seal, and Shabana.
Another clash that is expected to be interesting will see the unbeaten debutants Luanda Villa play Silibwet Leons at the Bomet Stadium.
Luanda and Nairobi United have yet to lose a game so far in the season, despite being new in the competition that is regarded as tough.
Luanda are ranked seventh with twelve points, three ahead of Silibwet who are perched 14th after two wins and three draws.
Rainbow will be seeking their third win of the season when they play Mulembe United at the Vapor Grounds.
The league newcomers started the season with a win but have since found the going tough, losing four out of the eight matches played.
They play host to Mulembe, who are two places above the last slot with seven points.
Migori Youth have a date with SS Assad at the Wendo Green Stadium.
