At the heart of the weekend’s action will be promotion-chasing trio Michael Olunga Football Academy, 3K FC and Kibera Black Stars, all of whom face stern opposition from sides battling to stay afloat, Vihiga United, Darajani Gogo and Kisumu All Stars respectively.

At Raila Odinga Stadium, third-placed Michael Olunga Football Academy will host Vihiga United in a crucial encounter as they look to solidify their promotion credentials.

The Homa Bay-based outfit heads into the match on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat to 3K FC, a result that dealt a significant blow to their promotion ambitions.

The loss saw MOFA fail to cut the points deficit on league leaders Migori Youth and second-placed Mombasa United, leaving them trailing by eight and eleven points respectively.

Coach Charles Bruno and his charges are fully aware that any further slip-up could compound their promotion push. However, a key concern remains their recent struggles in front of goal.

Since their emphatic 4-2 victory over Luanda Villa, the Harambee Stars captain-backed side has managed just four goals in their last six matches.

“Our main undoing currently is putting the ball behind the net. I have players capable of doing the job, and I will see into it to get the best out of them,” Bruno admitted.

They now face a rejuvenated Vihiga United side eager to escape the relegation zone.

Vihiga come into the clash buoyed by a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Kibera Black Stars, a result that reignited their survival hopes.

The victory lifted them to 16 points, though they remain eight points from safety, underlining the importance of another positive result.

With contrasting ambitions, MOFA aiming at promotion while Vihiga targeting survival, the fixture promises to be a tightly contested affair.

At Gems Cambridge Grounds, Darajani Gogo will host in-form 3K FC in what is expected to be a thrilling early 1:00 pm kickoff.

Darajani Gogo’s struggles have been well documented.

The Kibera-based side is yet to register a win in 2026, enduring a ten-match winless run, losing seven and drawing three, a poor stretch that has dragged them into the relegation mix.

Despite showing resilience in their comeback draw against Talanta last weekend, coach Kelly Ogutu will be desperate to see his side return to winning ways, and boost their survival chances.

However, they face a daunting task against a rejuvenated 3K side under Nicodemus Omasete.

The Mozzart Bet-backed outfit is enjoying a remarkable resurgence, currently on a four-match winning streak, highlighted by an emphatic 9-0 victory over Kabati Youth.

That run has reignited their promotion and title ambitions, which had momentarily stalled prior to the technical bench reshuffle.

Another win could see them close the gap on leaders Migori Youth to six points, and potentially move within two points of third-placed MOFA, should the latter falter in Homa Bay.

Later at the same venue, Kibera Black Stars will take on Kisumu All Stars at 3:00 pm in the second match of the double header clash.

Black Stars, still reeling from a shock 1-0 defeat to Vihiga United, will be keen to bounce back immediately and keep their promotion hopes alive.

Currently eighth on 36 points, coach Iddi Badi knows victory could lift his side to sixth place on 39 points, firmly placing them back in contention.

Kisumu All Stars, however, will not be pushovers.

The lakeside outfit recently ended a five-match winless run, and will be eager to build momentum.

A win could see them climb to 14th place on 27 points, significantly boosting their survival prospects.

At Ndalani Complex, Naivas FC will resume their pursuit of promotion when they take on Mully Children Family FC.

The Retailers come into the match in high spirits following an emphatic 3-1 victory over Nairobi City Stars.

Sitting seventh on 34 points, Naivas will be targeting maximum points to move to 37 and strengthen their push for a FKF Premier League slot, a quest that has slipped beneath them for two consecutive seasons.

However, bottom-placed MCF will be aiming to begin a surge for resurgence.

Still winless since being reinstated back into the league, the Machakos based side will be aiming to bag maximum points and jump-start their survival push.

While Elvis Ayani's side will be aiming to complete a double, on the other hand MCF will be keen to avenge that earlier defeat, in what promises to be a fiercely contested clash.

Elsewhere, Nzoia Sugar FC will host Mwatate United at Sudi Stadium in another fixture expected to influence both mid-table positioning, and the relegation battle.
