Elsewhere, Fortune Sacco will seek to rebound from last week’s 3-2 loss to Nairobi City Stars when they host Vihiga United at Wang’uru Stadium, while Nzoia Sugar welcomes Nairobi City Stars at Sudi Stadium

Game week 22 of the National Super League (NSL) concludes today after a thrilling run that began on Friday, when Mombasa United opened a six-point gap at the summit with a 1-0 win over Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA).

On Saturday, action across various venues produced significant shifts in both the promotion and relegation battles.

Naivas boosted their push for a top-ten finish with a commanding 3-0 victory against struggling Luanda Villa, while Mwatate United’s shock 3-1 win over Gucha Stars added fresh twists to the survival fight.

Sunday’s spotlight now shifts to Awendo Green Stadium, where Migori Youth host Darajani Gogo in a clash with major implications at both ends of the table.

Migori heads into the encounter keen to cut the gap between them and leaders Mombasa United to three points.

The Border Club had led the second-tier standings for more than three months before slipping three points behind the Coastal side last weekend.

Under Coach Sammy Otulo, Migori is seeking a swift response following last week’s 2-0 defeat to Gucha Stars.

They will draw confidence from their impressive home record, having remained unbeaten at Awendo this season.

Darajani Gogo, meanwhile, arrive in Awendo on the back of their poorest run since earning promotion to the Super League, a slump that now threatens their survival.

The Kibera-based outfit have managed just one win in their last 11 matches and collected only a single point from their previous seven outings.

Under coach William Oricho, Gogo has suffered defeats to Mombasa United, FC Talanta, Fortune Sacco, Kabati Youth, and Nzoia Sugar, with their only positive result in that stretch being a draw against Mwatate United.

Historically, Migori holds the upper hand in this fixture, winning four of their seven previous meetings. Gogo has won twice, while one match ended in a draw.

We are going to try and win the game for our fans and keep our hopes high. A league is a marathon, and we have the best players to keep us in,” Otulo told Mozzart Sport.

3K FC vs Soy United

At Moi Stadium in Embu, 3K FC will look to extend their resurgence under new coach Nicodemus Omasete when they host Soy United.

Omasete, who took charge three weeks ago, has overseen three consecutive wins, a sharp turnaround for the 2023/2024 Division One Zone A champions, who had managed just one victory in their previous six matches before his appointment.

A win for the Embu-based side could move them within a point of the promotion brackets, depending on results elsewhere.

Soy heads into the match after seeing a five-game winning streak stall. They are now winless in three matches, including back-to-back 1-0 defeats to Naivas and Kibera Black Stars.

The Blue Eagles have also struggled on the road, losing six of their 10 away fixtures this season. Their only away win came against Nzoia Sugar at the start of January.

While victory for either side may not dramatically alter the standings, it would tighten their grip on the chasing pack.

Elsewhere, Fortune Sacco will seek to rebound from last week’s 3-2 loss to Nairobi City Stars when they host Vihiga United at Wang’uru Stadium, while Nzoia Sugar welcomes Nairobi City Stars at Sudi Stadium.
