Milan and Bayer reached a deal which is set to be around 30 million

Almost all European transfer insiders reported at the same time: Victor Boniface is on the verge of a transfer to Milan! That is the “number nine” the Rossoneri have been waiting for all these months and searching for so long! In the last 48 hours, Milan sent an offer that Bayer Leverkusen is in principle ready to accept, and negotiations are in an advanced stage. It is also revealed that the Rossoneri have a verbal agreement with the player. Essentially, that should be it, although in the coming days negotiations will most likely continue regarding the final details of the transfer and contract for the Nigerian striker. The estimated fee being speculated is around 30,000,000 euros, which would be paid through a loan with an option to buy.

After the departures of Tammy Abraham, Luka Jović, and the freshly agreed exits of Noah Okafor and Divock Origi, Milan managed to secure a serious budget for bringing in a classic center-forward, especially considering that Max Allegri does not see Santiago Gimenez as the first-choice striker but rather as a backup option. For months, Milan had been scanning the market in search of a strong striker, and many names were considered. There were also different opinions within the Milan management. Executives Giorgio Furlani and Zlatan Ibrahimović had their own ideas, such as Dušan Vlahović and Rasmus Hojlund, who were offered to them, but in the end the responsibility and overall leadership of the operation was taken over by Tare. One of his options was the Danish striker Konrad Harder from Sporting Lisbon, and a deal worth about 25,000,000 was practically reached, but at the same time Tare was also looking at Boniface as the first option.

When Leverkusen sent positive signals that they were ready to negotiate Boniface’s sale, Tare focused all efforts on the Nigerian and put the Dane “on hold.” In the last few hours, major progress was made in negotiations among the three parties, and it is expected that Boniface will wear the red-and-black kit within the next seven days. Last season, the contracts of Abraham, Jović, Okafor, and Origi cost Milan more than 17,000,000 gross. That money has now been freed up to bring in a renowned striker with a big contract, and Tare decided that should be Boniface, whose salary (including taxes) should not cost the Rossoneri more than 10,000,000 euros per year. Soon, the full financial structure of Milan’s biggest transfer operation of this summer should be revealed.
