Need a hat-trick? Just call Endrick

The Brazilian seems to have gotten back on track at Lyon after an abysmal period in Madrid

Xabi Alonso's spell with Real Madrid is over, and the impression is that Los Blancos didn't have enough patience for the Spaniard, who became collateral damage of huge expectations and the players' spoiled behaviour.

However, if the former midfielder made one mistake during his stint at Santiago Bernabeu, it was the fact that he wronged Endrick. At least that's how things seem from this point of view.

During five months under Alonso, the Brazilian clocked only 99 minutes on the pitch and his career started seriously going south. Madrid ultimately loaned him to Olympique Lyon, and the 19-year-old didn't need much time to demonstrate his class.

He found the net on his debut with the French team in a 2-1 win over Lille in Coupe de France, provided an assist in his maiden Ligue 1 game against Brest, and last night bagged his first career hat-trick in a 5-2 triumph over Metz! That's five goal contributions in three matches - more than half of what he achieved in Madrid in 40 appearances (seven goals and one assist).

Now, the new Los Blancos' boss, Alvaro Arbeloa, might have considered Endrick a valuable asset in the La Liga title race, but, unfortunately, he won't have him at his disposal until the end of June, when the youngster's loan expires.

Until then, both the manager and the player can only hope that this scoring spree will continue, so that next season, Endrick can show that Madrid didn't make a mistake when they splurged €47.5 million for his arrival from Palmeiras.
