Juventus are trying to tempt Kalidou Koulibaly to Turin

Napoli are in a state of alert. They are trying to tie their captain Kalidou Koulibaly to a new contract and avoid losing one of their best players to Juventus.

The Bianconeri have already made contact with the Senegalese's representatives to try and snatch the 31-year-old defensive rock, who enters his final year of contract at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The Senegal international loves life in Naples, where he enjoys a strong bond with the supporters, but he's allegedly tempted into trying his luck at a club competing on a higher level. To stop Koulibaly from having a dilemma, the Campagna club offered him what their sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli called "an almost irrefutable offer", namely a five-year contract with a net salary of $6 million per year.

"Club president Aurelio De Laurentis offered Koulibaly a huge offer of $60 million gross over five years and a role on the Napoli board at the end of his playing career. Kalidou gave us a lot and he deserves to remain at Napoli in some capacity. But he has to think about it."

Napoli don't want to give their captain up, but will demand a fee of around $35 million should the African star decide his future lies away from Naples.
