Nairobi United top in latest NSL clubs World Club Power Rankings

The rankings, updated daily and released monthly, rank clubs on a scale of zero to 100, where zero is the worst and 100 is the best

Newly-promoted FKF Premier League side Nairobi United are the highest-ranked second-tier club in the latest World Club Power Rankings.

The rankings, done by Opta, brought together over 13,000 men's domestic football teams, with 2,000 women's teams.

The teams are drawn from 413 domestic leagues in 183 countries across the globe.

The rankings, updated daily and released monthly, place clubs on a scale of zero to 100, where zero is the worst and 100 is the best.

A hierarchical Elo-based system is the technology used to measure the strength of each team through assigning skill scores according to match results, thereby making it possible to provide a truly global rating system.

From the latest released update on Thursday, 19 June, Nairobi United, with a global rank of 5,053 and a rating of 54.3, is the highest ranked NSL club.

Naivas with a rating of 51.5 are the second-ranked NSL team at 5,981, with only two clubs in Kenya's second tier featuring in the top 6,000 clubs worldwide.

APS Bomet, who have been promoted to the top tier, are third at 6,371 with a rating of 50.4.

Darajani Gogo are fourth at 6,544 with a rating of 50.0, completing the clubs with a rating of over 50, with; Fortune Sacco (6,955), Kisumu Allstars (7,347), Luanda Villa (7,628), MCF (7,667), and Nzoia Sugar at 7,773 following in.

At 11th in the NSL and 7,810 globally are Migori Youth, followed by Dimba Patriots (7,834), MOFA (7,902), 3K FC (7,912) Samwest Blackboots (8,065) and Vihiga United (8,363) respectively.

The last four clubs are Mombasa Stars (8,438), Muhoroni Youth (8,682), Mombasa United (8,844), and SS Assad (9729).

In Kenya, Gor Mahia are the highest ranked club at 1,664 globally with a rating of 66, followed by FKF Premier League champions Kenya Police FC at 1,702 and with a rating of 65.8.

Kakamega Homeboyz are closing the top three at position 2,044.

Worldwide, English Premier League outfit Liverpool FC are the most powerful club with a 100 rating, followed by PSG with a 99.9 rating, as Arsenal closes the top three with a rating of 99.5
