Nagelsmann debut went well: Germany defeat USA 3-1

Julian Nagelsmann had a dream debut on the bench for Germany. Understandably, his new team is not yet on the desirable level for the young coach and won't be for some time, but serious signs of progress are already visible. And quite enough to win against the ambitious Americans on their field - 3:1. According to pre-match announcements, Nagelsmann paired the most talented German footballers - Florian Wirz and Jamal Musiala - for the first time since the start. Two Bundesliga superstars showed to everybody that they can work together very well on the field. Leroy Sane completed the attacking three behind centre-forward Niclas Fullkrug, while the central positions in midfield went to Ilkay Gundogan and Pascal Gross.

It was expected that Nagelsmann would give a chance to Leon Goretzka instead of the ill Joshua Kimmich, but he still opted for the Brighton midfielder. Mats Hummels made a great comeback in the starting 11; the young strategist paired him with Antonio Rudiger; as expected, Robin Gosens played on the left, and Jonathan Tah forced his way to the right, but Benny Henrichs will take his place as soon as he recovers

In the continuation of the match in Connecticut, Thomas Müller, Kai Havertz, Niklas Zule, Julian Brandt and Stuttgart's Chris Fierich also got a chance. Compared to previous months, Germany looked faster, more concrete, and even more organized.
