Harrison Mwendwa is hoping to secure regular first team football at AFC Leopards.

Harrison Mwendwa is yet to get to the dizzying heights he achieved at Kariobangi Sharks since making the switch to AFC Leopards at the start of the season and has opened up on his struggles at Ingwe

The skillful winger has so far failed to nail down a regular starting position at AFC Leopards as he has mostly been utilized as a substitute.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Mwendwa who dazzled in the Super Cup for Sharks scoring the lone goal against Bandari to earn a dream clash with Everton lifted the lid on his struggles at Ingwe

“I have been putting an extra shift in training, my challenge has been the change of coaches because of the different philosophies. I also had some injuries at the start of the season which did not make it easier," he opened up.

“Not playing regularly is not a player’s best moments. I am a player who relies on momentum and playing regularly. Five games in a row will help me rediscover my best form,” explained Mwendwa.

The pacey winger was one of the star players at Sharks chipping in with goals and assists to help the side post impressive results especially in cup games.

The former Mathare United midfielder is working hard in training to get more playing time and was wary of the suspension of sports just when the team was in a good run of form.

“I know I have my work cut out in order to play week in week out because the players in the team are also quality players which can be seen in the results,” he said,

“The break has affected us as a team because we had a good momentum in the league and now we will have to work in order to get back to that form,” added Mwendwa.
