Motta-ball bears fruit: Vlahovic crushes Genoa with two goals

Conceicao finalized the scoresheet with his maiden Bianconeri goal
Juventus ascended to the top of the Serie A standings with a commanding 3-0 victory over Genoa, as Dušan Vlahović’s brace ensured Il Grifone’s search for a first home win this season continues.
The first half was far from exhilarating, with both sides struggling to create clear chances and only managing four shots between them in the opening 45 minutes. Juventus, looking for their first league goal since their win against Verona in late August, had the only noteworthy moment when Vlahović narrowly missed the target with a free-kick just over the crossbar around the half-hour mark.
Genoa, with only one win from their opening five matches, would have been satisfied with keeping Juventus at bay through the first half. However, the deadlock was broken just three minutes after the restart following a handball by Koni De Winter inside the box. Vlahović confidently dispatched the resulting penalty, putting Juventus in front.

With redemption on his mind after being sent off in his last meeting with Genoa, Vlahović struck again just seven minutes later. The Serbian forward latched onto a well-placed pass from Teun Koopmeiners and slotted a left-footed finish into the right corner, doubling Juventus’ lead.
Genoa managed only a couple of efforts on target in response, but any hopes of a comeback were extinguished when Francisco Conceicao added Juve’s third goal with just a minute of normal time remaining. The comprehensive win leaves Genoa sitting precariously in 16th place, while Juventus comfortably occupy the top spot in the table for now.
